When two investment giants come together to become one, they need a new website. We were tasked with creating two websites for Standard Life Aberdeen Plc. and Aberdeen Standard Investments as well in 8 weeks.
TThe two investment companies Standard Life and Aberdeen Asset Management merged and became two new entities, which meant they needed two shiny new websites. This proved to be a challenging one due to short deadlines and balancing two brands visions.
The project meant that UX, design and development needed to work very closely to ensure that the vision would be executed quickly and to the best extent. The project was constantly changing and adapting due to changing needs.
We decided to create a simple template with a cut out and thick lined theme throughout the two websites. The colour palette was varied, but we wanted to focus on the imagery and content and use the bright colours as accents to draw attention. The two sites also had very different needs, like share price and sponsorships, but proved a good experience, that showed if you can get designers, ux-ers and developers into one room they can create something great.
